Project Description

Larkspur Landing is one of three brands in the Larkspur Hotels & Restaurants group, a small chain with properties in California and the Pacific Northwest. Larkspur Landing competes in the highly undifferentiated extended-stay segment which caters to business travelers needing to stay for longer than 5 nights.

Over the years, the brand saw several larger competitors enter their market and the agency was tasked with a brand refresh in order to highlight and reinforce the attributes of the Larkspur Landing brand and help it reclaim its place in the market.

Some of the attributes already inherent in the brand provided the inspiration behind this effort: its pleasant locations, its distinctive Northern California craftsman decor, the safety that comes from being all inside-corridors, and the friendly reputation of the staff and its highly relevant tagline “Home Suite Hotel.”

The end result was new, distinctive signature imagery consisting of a home-like arrangement of picture frames on a shelf, an updated logo that emphasized their tagline and a comprehensive advertising campaign that emphasized the brand’s key selling points and visually elevated the brand to better compete with larger chains in the upper midscale extended stay segment.
